Hurst review for nclex????

Published

Hi guys....

Does hurst reviews book for nclex rn help for the exam..??? i have kaplan strategies book but it contains very few questions so thought to buy any other book which contains more nclex style questions..any one please suggest me a book which really helps for my exam.,,

this is my opinion on hurst...

hurst was great for content review and i can honestly say i probably learned more watching hurst videos than i did in nursing school and it was way easier to understand as well...but the hurst review tests were NOTHING like my nclex questions AT ALL.

except for the ECG questions, i would say that my nclex questions were most like the questions in lacharity's PDA (i did maybe the first 5 chapters and that's it, unfortunately)... unless lacharity does cover ECGs and I just never got to it yet..

thank you razzlered...i ordered for my pda but not received yet..so nw i have pda by lacharity, kaplan strategies n review n saunders comprehensive book...i hope i can do with those...

Hurst was great for making the content easy to remember and understand and I loved them for that. I think questions are extremely important, but if you don't know your content you won't be able to answer them anyway. If you're feeling confident on the content, I'd say skip Hurst, but if there are things you don't remember or understand Hurst is worth every penny.

Yes i am weak in my content..it is difficult for me to remember that part. now im getting my scores at an average of 60%.,, do you think that this score is ok or do i have to improve..??

I would definitely say take hurst! and do lots of practice questions from different sources. Hurst is content based as others mentioned but totally worth the investment :)

I have the PDA book, I love it. I am glad to hear content questions were similar to that of the book.

I have also thought about doing Hurst as well after I graduate (Dec 2013) as a content refresher.

I'm doing hurst now and also doing Kaplan. I like hurst for content bc I feel like I'm weak with it but I'm also learning a lot from Kaplan. My scores arent the best but they are improving. Theres stuff on kaplan that I have no idea what the dz or drug is etc.. but when I go back and read the rationale I learn something new. I'm taking my test in less than 2 weeks so I'll let you know how it goes!

mrspinkie...,, all the best for your exam..and please let us know about your success..I am going through hurst review book now.,, and it contains more strategies than the content..i have my test in a month and as you all mentioned i have to go through lots n lots of practice..
