hi everyone!!! im a foreign nurse graduate from the philippines , and im here in arkansas,im currently waiting for my att..does anybody know how long it would take?? im done with the ces report from cgfns as well as my toefl..so everything is with the state board of arkansas, and they say they are just waiting for the fbi check to come back..im about to give my 2 weeks notice at work so i can focus on my review..i dont know if hurst would be the one or not ,,i graduated 2010 so its been a while so i really need content review..please help me on deciding what review will i take? im torn between kaplan or hurst??and on what other review material should i get??? and also does anyone know how long it takes for the background check and for my att to be released here in arkansas??? pls help...thank you fellow graduates

I took the hurst review, and if you feel that you need a content review this is a great option. I loved it. They really broke down the information and made it easy to remember. Definitely worth the money!

i am na international nurse too and would really suggest to go with kaplan though they dont teach you with content but still you can do alot better with the books provided the question they help you with really the nclex style one and help you prepare alot.good luck

tnx for the reply,,,can i ask what other study materials you used aside from hurst..i need to do a study plan..i have the kaplan book for for strategies,,but im wondering what other studying materials i need to have..im totally lost

I really liked the Davis NCLEX review book. I thought those practice questions were really good, and similar to how strange the questions can be. I also would recommend the Prioritization, delegation and assignment book.

I think if you really focus on these things they will help you. The Davis book has A LOT of questions. A whole book full, and a CD for the computer.

Another resource I used was on the NCSBN website. They have a 3 week program that is 50$. It has sections with some information, and then post tests with questions.

Hope this helps!

I took my PN NCLEX in July and I live in Arkansas. Honestly, I'm not sure if it's any different because you are a foreign but I do know it took about a week for the background check and my ATT was 4 days! Where will you be testing? Little Rock? Fort Smith? Texarkana? Have you decided yet??

i ordered the pda by la charity and saunders nclex 5th ed...then im gonna do the hurst as soon as im off work already..im gonna give my resignation...ohh im so nervous..tnx for the reply it helps a lot.:)
