Hey guys! I'm starting this thread for the August 2024 Cohort at Huntington Hospitals RN Residency Program. Hopefully we can update each other on application processes, interviews, and job offers!

I met a nurse who works at Huntington's L&D and she told me they're not hiring new grad nurses for their unit. I was kind of surprised, I'm like it's part of the units we can apply to for their new grad program. I actually applied to the day and night shift position. 

she said they hired a lot of new grads for L&D the last cohort and that they don't have openings right now. So maybe they'll keep our applications till December or when they need more people they'll call us. I'm like what!! That explains why they haven't called anyone for L&D. LOL 

But my question is, why would you guys post the position if it's not open. Kind of weird but let's see.

I think Mother Baby is postpartum? IDK if they're 2 different units like other hospitals. But if it's the same unit then that's really annoying because they literally posted like 4 openings for it🫠

I don't know that either but I intend to show her the listing when next we meet. She's an NP and and works in the different units but I'm still trying to figure why they'll do that

What email address are people hearing from? It said apps were being accepted until 6/28. I sent mine 6/27. Anyone else send this late? I chose surgical, oncology and general.

Were you given an estimated time on when? I had my interview last week and was told they'd get back to me by the end of the week, but I never heard from them. 😭

Hey everyone, just giving some updates! I was fortunate to land an interview for a ortho department and did the interview last week. I got a call on Monday offering me the position for that department and I accepted. This morning, I also got 2 rejection emails from NICU and mother/baby. So I don't know if it's because I accepted a position or if they're going over applications finally. I want to thank OP and everyone in this thread for all the helpful information. You are all amazing!

Has anyone completed a staff panel interview after their initial interview with the manager? If so, could you provide some insight on how it went? Very nervous! Thanks!
