Hi everyone,

I wanted to start this thread to help anyone who applied for Huntington Hospital's RN Residency Program that starts in April 2022. This can be used to provide status updates on applications or interviews. Thank you!

Hi! I’m also applying to the residency program but am having trouble applying. How did you attach your letters of recommendation? My professor gave me a hard copy but I have no idea how to attach it to the application. Any suggestions? I’m so overwhelmed. Thanks!

Hi, if you can't ask ask your professor for a pdf version of the the LOR, I recommend scanning your LOR or taking a picture of it and converting it to a PDF.

If you have an iPhone, there's an option to do it through your "notes" app.

Go to "notes," make a new note. Click the icon of the camera and it'll say "scan documents." Click save then the top right corner should have three dots in a circle. Click that. You can send that image to yourself. If it needs to be in pdf form, I recommend using this site to convert it to a pdf - https://smallpdf.com/jpg-to-pdf

Thank you for responding! So it would be okay for me to open the letter and scan it and submit it? I was just anxious that it would be unethical as I keep hearing the letter is confidential.

Oh, it's in a letter? In that case, is there anyway you can contact your professor for a PDF version. Or maybe you can contact the hospital's HR about sending it in?

I didn't realize it was an actual letter, my professors sent them to be via PDF.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

That’s okay! I’m going to call HR tomorrow. Last question for you. When your professor sent you the letters through pdf you were essentially able to read the letter before submitting them right? It wasn’t confidential or anything like that?

Hi,

Yes, I was able to read the letter. They sent PDF version so that it wouldn't be able to be altered. Best of luck applying!! I hope you get the job ^^

Sorry to ask again but would love to know- are all positions nights? Thank you

I’d say most of the positions are for night shift. I think it just depends on needs the unit you apply for. If you really want day shift you can always talk to your supervisor/ manager about it once your hired.

Hey! Which unit did you apply to? I had an interview and received an offer for the surgical unit ?

Hello,

I'm planning to apply for the next new grad position and was wondering if you were able to pick your unit? I want to get into OR and wanted to know how you got it? I tried to PM you but it wouldn't let me.

so I should be hearing back from them very soon.

Hello! I had applied to the august cohort but got rejected for oncology. So I’m thinking of reapplying in November to the cardiothoracic unit but I’m not familiar with what it encompass? Do you know anything about this unit? Also if you wouldn’t mind sharing some tips as to what they asked during your interview ? Thanks!

Hi!

Sorry to bother but I just got notice for a second interview for CTU and was wondering if anyone has any tips or advice?

How did the interview go!? If you don’t mind sharing some tips I’d be thankful ?

Hi, I'm thinking about applying to the HH new grad program. I can't find any pay info online so I wanted to ask people here that are in. What is the pay range while in the residency program? Is it different for each department? Is there a guaranteed pay change after the residency? Any info would be much appreciated!
