I am not, but I wish I could sit down with some of these girls and just give them some insight on dating! As funny as it sounds. A good majority don't have moms in the home, or have been able to see a stable relationship/marriage or just need somebody who is not a family member to tell them what they need to hear.

I've actually sat down with a few girls and told them what they should be looking for in a boyfriend ect and they listen! Currently helping one girl get out of an unhealthy/toxic relationship.

Ugh. My heart goes out to them!

I always do the senior class trip and their big fundraiser for it. Usually, just a state over and they are part of the compact.

I wish my state were part of the compact, but nope! Makes out of state field trips fun.

This is brilliant! Who did you talk to to start this? Or who runs this?

Our new Admin decided on doing this and honestly my children's school has done this too.

I would start with admin and principal.

The way we decided was we asked teachers to volunteer and to nominate students they wish to mentor. They don't have to have a special reason to nominate students, it could be you just want to get to know the kid better or want to have a better relationship with them.

Once we nominated students, we got to pick from a list. We decide a good time to meet our students and just talk to them and see how they are.

You don't have to visit all the time or each day, just once in a while, talk to the student, ask how they are doing and do some fun activities with them.

My little girl has one because of her traumatic experience of her mother dying, and she's nice. She takes pictures with her, and made a nice frame for the pictures. They play board games and just chat.
