2012-2013 HRSA Nursing Scholarship Application

The application process hasn't even started yet but I didn't even find out about last year's scholarship until a couple days before the deadline. I did get my application in on time but was not fortunate enough to be a recipient. I intend to apply again for the upcoming scholarship. Any tips from those that were accepted? My EFC is 0, I'm in an undergraduate program, and my GPA is 3.4.

Has anyone looked back to see when last years group recieved their lump sum payments? I know it says no later than November 6, but i was just hoping it might be a lot sooner.....

Hello all!!!! Just was browsing through the thread and wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to all of you who have been accepted into the HRSA program!!! It's a great program. I was a 2010 recipient!!! Good luck with nursing school! My prayers are with you! :-)

I've been wondering the same thing! have you joined the facebook group one of the women on here started so we can all talk and help each other on this journey through school and beyond? if so you should! (i tend to check that more than this lol)

Just to let everyone know, I got my refund check today from my school for tuition from this semester. I am going Monday to talk to my school to find out how to go about paying back and canceling my loans. I am super happy this part of the process has gone by smoothly.

I don't think my school has even sent the summer semester bill to the program yet!

I went to the bursar's office with my paperwork around Sept. 20th...and they sent the info to HRSA on the 24th. HRSA posted the money to my school on the 26th. I feel really silly because I hadn't even followed up on it- I did not expect them to refund the money for a long time. When the check came, I was shocked and I logged onto my bursar's account and saw the dates everything happened. So, it makes me feel a little relieved because it seemed very quick and organized. I have no idea when to expect our first stipend payment. It would be great if it was this month, but I am telling myself it could maybe be the beginning of November because that seems to be what happened last year.
