2019-2020 HRSA Nursing Corps Scholarship

I can't seem to find a thread on the latest round of Nurse Corps Applications, So I'll start. My initial point is more of me venting, but guess I'll ask - Should I even continue with my application? The new cycle and FAFSA wants us to use 2017 tax info, but in 2017, I was preparing for school and was employed full-time. Now that I'm collecting pennies and in dire need of assistance, it looks like my EFC is almost 8000. I can rarely work in reality. I'm really disheartened and confused as to why the FAFSA is set up like that.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I don’t think so. Last year, didn’t it take a while for everyone to get notified? Kinda how like we all became finalists at different times?

I’m in the same boat as you.. still currently under review.. it makes me think like “ are they REALLY even checking out my application?”

How did you find out? Was it an email? Or just on your portal? My dates were the exact same as yours ???‍♀️?????????

I found out by checking my portal. I never received an email so far but they’re still awarding but it’s not in a systemized way. They’re been awarding now for about 2 hours and counting

EDIT: I finally got my email about 1 hour after the portal switched to participant

I also got notified that I'm a participant today, and I was notified via email which prompted me to go in and check my portal. I got two emails. One had the subject "New message on your BHW account" which came in at 3 PM, basically saying that there's a new message for me in my portal and to go check it. The other email also came in at 3 PM and had the subject "Login to the Nurse Corps Scholarship Customer Service Portal Today." The body of that email said "Welcome to the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program (Nurse Corps SP)!" and had more information about being a participant in the program. I hope you guys get some good news soon!
