HRSA Nurse corp scholarship 2022-2023

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone, I just got accepted into the nursing program for Spring of 2022 and wanted to know if anybody else in here what's going to apply for the Nurse Corp scholarship when they open back up next year or if anybody has applied how did it go for you!???

Hello to everyone in this thread! Good luck with applying for the scholarship this cycle. Put your best foot forward when completing the application and don't doubt yourself. I was lucky enough to receive the scholarship last year even though I thought I had no chance LOL! I checked this year's APG (https://bhw.HRSA.gov/sites/default/files/bureau-health-workforce/funding/nursecorps-sp-guidance.pdf see page 13) and it looks like there is enough funding for HRSA to award twice as many people. Good luck :)))

Hey thanks. I'm glad they have enough funding. I just started my application and now I have to upload my documents. Working on that all week into next week.

Hey everyone! I am just starting my application. I got accepted into an ABSN program starting this fall and they tell us not to try and have a job which is one reason why this application will be a huge life saver. My concern is possibly being disqualified if I have a job while completing my application. Has anyone heard about how that works? Also, this would be my second degree, so am I still able to apply if I have student loans from my first degree? Any advice or tips would help ?

@Jess1695_ From the research I did, you aren’t disqualified if you work. However, since the scholarship is taxable right now you have to put it on your taxes and with working you can possibly have to owe thousands of dollars depending on how much you worked. So they advise either to not work or work very minimal while in the program. As far as the loans, I’ve watched videos on Youtube where people who received the scholarship had pervious loans from another degree. I hope this helps and good luck!!

Soo what transcripts are you guys sending ??? I got accepted into Piedmont college for nursing but the only transcript I have with them is a transfer transcript because I haven't attended their school yet???... Also what are you guys sending for the curriculum vitae/resumé. ????? I don't have any dissertations or anything fancy like that to upload and I know they don't want a job resume LOL hahaha...

I am finished but the HRSA NC scholarship website won't allow me to submit due to my school being "under review" on the academic information section but accepted in the system. I added the school on March 8th and should have updated on my application within 48 hours. Here we are 9 days later. After multiple calls, they said it is a program error and escalated the issue to be fixed so I can hit submit.

Dang... I'm done as well just waiting on my last person to submit their recommendation letter  I hope my phlebotomy certification gets taken into account as healthcare experience...I hate how they have a tier system for disbursing funds LOL like the first people that will get the money are people that are trying to be nurse practitioners, then after that are the people who are career pathway students like nurse aide or patient care tech , then what's left is given to entry level nursing students????? ...

Hey! Unless they changed the tier system, the regular RN, BSN, and ABSN students usually get picked before NP, DNP, etc.
