12 hr Night shifters who use day care?

I hope I can help. Daycare is either half day or full day. Once you place your child in daycare you need to keep it consistant. If you're off for a few days you will still be required to pay. You need to pay in advance. If you tell me the age of your child I can better direct you into what type of daycare would be best for you

I go with a home daycare in our neighborhood. She offers drop in care, so if I only used her 2-3 days a week, she is fine with paying per day. I know my schedule 3-4 weeks in advance. I actually pay for fulltime care (which is the same whether it's 4 days or 5), and I sometimes take him there, even if it's one of my days off. He gets dropped off around 8am (as soon as I get home, I walk him over there) and I pick him up around 4pm, after I've woken up and taken a shower.

Prior to this care provider, I used a care provider 3 days a week, and I would write down my schedule for the month for her, so she would know which days to expect him.

We don't have any night shift daycares around here. I think it would be invaluable, and I'm not sure why we don't, but we don't. Nurses aren't the only ones that could utilize after 6pm childcare... surely there's a demand?

I use daycare, but only during the day. My husband is home at night and on weeekends. When he gets up for work, he gets our daughter ready and takes her to daycare. Then I get home, sleep, and they wake me up when they get home. I couldn't function without sending her to daycare. I need sleep!

Clarification: I don't need child car for DURING night shift. I am wondering about the actual time spent sleeping. Like how far in advance you give notice for part time. And do you have the kid there on both the days before you go in AND after? For back to back shifts, of course it would be full day. But for shifts before and after I go in for one shift, I am undecided on how long of a day. Thanks.

Where my child goes the daycare opens at 7am and closes at 6pm. I have her there in the afternoon school program. So afterschool one of the E.C.E workers walks her from her class to the daycare which is in the same building. I have my sister pick her up at 5pm and she drives her to grandma until my husband gets home. Where I go there are 3 schedules to choose from. All day, before school or after school. If I'm off and don't need to take her I still have to pay.
