Just to want to find out the situations of New graduate in Washington state. I live in NY/NJ/PA tri-state area. Just graduated with an associate degree in Nursing in May. The job market here is terrible!. In my class of 20 students, only 3 or 4 have jobs by now.
As I'm single, does not own any property, I'm free to move to anywhere in US where I can find a job in the hospital, preferably in Med-Surg Floor. Can anybody shed some lights on the job market in Washington State? Appreciate it.

It's dang near impossible finding work as a new graduate in the Seattle area. If you are one of the handful that did, consider yourself extremely blessed.

I believe that hospitals in the Tri cities are hiring new grads. I know that they have a new grad internship in Kadlec Medical Center, as did Southwest Hospital in Vancouver, Washington, which is down by the Washington and Oregon state border.
I wrote a thread with hospita names a couple of months ago. Search my thread, and see if you can find it.
Idaho was also hiring new grads, and had a new grad internship. Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d' Alene, is about 30 miles from the Washington/Idaho state border. It is about 50 miles east of Spokane. Nice area. Hope that helps.

I am about to complete a RN refresher course through Washington State University. I am having a difficult time finding a hospital where I can do my clinical in the Seattle region so I can complete the course. I have a very indepth background in ICU for 23 years! When I entered this course just over a year ago, i was told by the director of the refresher course that i would be able to pick and chose the hospital i would want to work at once i was finished.....HARDLY!!
Any good feedback??
