Howard Community College Accelerated RN, 2015

U.S.A. Maryland

Has anyone else been accepted into the 2015 accelerated nursing program at Howard Community College?

If anyone from a prior program reads this, what was your experience like and how easy or hard was it for you to get job following graduation and passing the NCLEX?

Hey , I'm in the traditional program. We are actually mixed with accelerated only difference being they start and finish in the summer. But if you want me to answer any questions I would be happy to.

Have you heard from any of the accelerated students as to how rigorous their summer semester was?

It's the same difficulty level as traditional just with summers and your going straight through from what I've heard. The program here at HCC is really good but it's not easy, if you have resilience to go non stop without breaks I hear that's the only hard part. As far as Bsn is concerned, I'm doing one that allows me to do it while I'm doing my ADN, I only have to have my license for my senior practicum. There isn't a lot of spare time in this program but many people even with the non stop accelerated have kids and make it work

What program allows you to work on your BSN while working on your ADN in Maryland? I saw that Towson does but Howard Community College was not on their list of affiliated community colleges.

Frostburg has a newish program actually. A lot of ADN students in there with me from various comm colleges around maryland

Can you PM me? I have some questions for you regarding both of these programs.

Specializes in NICU.

No, I worked in healthcare though conducting research. I am at UMSON, and I know for a fact that it isn't required. It may be helpful in regards to admission and finding a job thereafter but it isn't required.

Hi. Would you mind also PMing me about working on a BSN while in the ADN program. Thanks!

You should contact Frostburg since that's the school that roxiroxmysox mentioned that she's attending.

Hello All!

I recently found out I was accepted to one of the BSN programs I applied to so I will be forfeiting my seat to attend there!

So I got accepted to the FSU RN-BSN program and I am looking at the classes I need to take. Are there any classes that you would recommend taking/not taking during foundations? I dont have any pre-req left for HCC so its just 122 in the fall so far. Are you taking any summer classes? Would you recommend 1 or 2 during that time? I am used to taking 2-3 classes at a time but I dont want to take too much and get overwhelmed so soon. thanks for your help in this btw! This is an amazing opportunity and I want to take full advantage of it.
