So, on the IL application to the BON to sit for the NCLEX it asks:
Have you had or do you now have any disease or condition that interferes with your ability to perform the essential functions of your
profession, including any disease or condition generally regarded as chronic by the medical community, i.e., (1) mental or emotional
disease or condition; (2) alcohol or other substance abuse; (3) physical disease or condition, that presently interferes with your ability
to practice your profession?
My girlfriend and I have differing opinions on what they are asking here. My opinion is that they are asking, do you have or have you had any chronic condition that would presently interfere with your ability to practice your profession?
My friend says no, they are asking do you have or have you ever had any chronic condition?
How do YOU interpret this?
The reason I'm asking is because I was treated for alcohol abuse in 2006. I have not had a problem since and dont drink alcohol at all anymore. My friend says I have to disclose that based on the question I listed above. I dont think I have to, because I think they are asking about conditions that would presently interfere with your job.
Opinions?
Thanks!
