  1. Im still in the process of finishing up some pre-reqs for the nursing program but darn it, it really burns me up when I see my fellow classmates cheating on tests while I'm doing the honorable thing and taking the exam as it was given..which is by myself. I am in chemistry class this semester and it never fails, during an exam someone will want clarification on a test question or two. While the professor is distracted with this, the 4 girls that sit next to me will compare and change their answers with each other. This is a pattern of behavior with these 4 girls and I haven't said anything because I am of the mind set that its none of my business, but....boy, it makes me mad! I'm studying so hard to get a good grade and I feel like the 4 of them have each other to rely on to help them get a good grade. It just doesnt seem very fair. Has anyone experienced this and if so what do you do about it. As a side note, I actually like the 4 girls in question very much..but the whole cheating thing.....its so not cool.
  2. At 100,000.00 I would be depressed and freaking out too! OMG, what is the point in getting an education if your just going to spend all your working hours for the next 10-20 years to pay it off? Sorry to hear your in this situation, hopefully you can figure something out.
  3. Since its none of my business what other students are doing or what their medical or psychological history is, I've never really thought about it. Just concentrate on your own studies and let others do the same. It really doesn't concern you.

    I simply don't believe you.
  5. Thanks for the info Megc629. Its much appreciated!
  6. Thanks so much Megc629, that helps a bunch. I think I will get an ipod touch then as I would definitely like to record the lectures. I heard that the day class has 60+ people in it. How do they fit all those people in one class? Is everyone in a big lecture room/hall or do they spit those people up into smaller classes? Thanks for the info :)
  7. Life is way too short to be that unhappy. Get moving forward. Change your situation.
  8. Anyone know what color scrubs the JJC nursing students wear? Also, when in the program were you allowed to use a ipod touch or tablet in classroom or at clinical? Are there any real differences between the day program and evening program (besides the schedule)? Enquiring minds want to know! hehe Thanks!
  9. Hi all, I was hoping one of the wonderful lpn's here at allnurses could fill me in pertaining to the scope of practice of lpn's in Illinois. Are lpn's allowed to start IV's here and what is the pay difference between LPN and RN in Illinois. Thanks guys!:)
  10. Sorry for the silly question but I was just wondering...when nurses have a lot of calculations to figure out do they usually do them in their head on the fly or do they have a calculator with them all the time?
  11. Thanks ktliz, I'm glad someone thinks so too :) I'm just finished all my prereq's and am now able to apply to one of the health programs at my community college and am trying to research those 3 professions as much as I can before choosing one. I have done some job shadowing and that was helpful but thought maybe people that are knowledgeable of the hospital environment would have an opinion about which job would be the best fit for INFP's.
  12. Hi all, I recently read a thread here about what the best kind of nursing job is for a INFP personality. It was very interesting reading! I was just wondering, to those of you who have worked in a hospital environment, which profession do you think would be the best fit for INFP? Nursing Rad Tech or Resp. Therapy? Thanks for your insight!
  13. At JJC, Bio 151 is a prereq to bio 250. Bio 250 is a prereq to bio 251. You do not need bio 100 for the nursing program at jjc. Hope that helps :) p.s. math 094 is a prereq to bio 151.
  14. I just got done reading a ton of threads where nurses have been disciplined very harshly by the board. Countless threads go on to tell a story of a nurses life turned upside down due to a past substance abuse problem or because of having a criminal history. In alot of these cases, the consequences and discipline the board dishes out is understandable but some are just ridiculous. I mean, the board not giving someone a license because of a charge that was over 10 years old..and didn't even result in a conviction? Or the board making someone pay thousands of dollars and jump through hoops for years because of a past alcohol abuse problem over 7 years ago? ect. ect. These are just two of many examples. Im curious, is the discipline so harsh because nurses generally have access to narc's? I mean, do respiratory therapists and radiologic technologists have such harsh consequences as well?
  15. I have severe bowel adhesions due to endometriosis. The week I have my period (and 3 days before), I can not consume anything but liquids because of intense pain. Solid food is not an option during that particular time every month.
