Hello to all.
Well I just graduated from nursing school in June 2012.. took my boards August, passed, have my license, and now I'm in the search for a job.
I have no prior work experience since I just graduated.
In June, I also just graduated out of high school. Yes, I went to a high school that offered a CNA and a LPN program.
Anyways, I have been trying to write a resume for the past 2 weeks unsuccessfully. I have no clue what to write.
What am I supposed to write for experience? I also have never had an ordinary job (ex: cashier, etc)
Some one please help! Im totally clueless.

Do you have an volunteer experience? Any clubs that you belonged too in high school?

Where do you live? I graduated with my RPN/LPN with 2.5 years of college after high school. The best way to approach no experience is to focus your resume on your placements and education experience.

Yes I do have volunteer experience, after I graduated I have been volunteering at my moms work place and the nurses there have been allowing me to shadow them. So should I write that on my resume?
And what about clinical experience? Can I put that or no?
I live in New York and went to a high school that offered a LPN program in it. Here is a chart I got from the OP.NYSED.GOV site. This is a list of the high schools that offer nursing in new york. NYS Nursing:Nursing Programs:PN NCLEX Results:2008-2012

You can consider the shadowing as volunteer work:) Clinical experience is always welcome on a resume. (If you want, I can PM you a version of my 1st nursing resume....minus my personal info... as an example)
That is amazing that high schools offer that:) I'm not sure on the idea, but it sounds impressive to get people into the program at a younger age:)

Clinical experience counts! What a lot of employers will do is ask for references from your clinicals if you don't have job experience. One person told me she cared more about that anyway since that's what I would be doing.
