How to write the letter to the California BRN about $300+ traffic ticket?

Dear fellow nursing students and nurses,

I am in the process of getting my application together so I can get permission to take the NCLEX-RN. The BRN asks us to report any traffic ticket over $300. I have one ticket, and I went to court to get a certified copy of the ticket and how it was resolved.

Now I need to write the letter to the BRN. I've been looking for some kind of template, but haven't been able to find any. All it says on the BRN website is to write a detailed explanation.

How detailed should it be? What kind of information should this letter conclude? Not sure how to go about with this letter.

Any help is appreciated!

Thank you, all!

"Was cited for doing 70 mph in a 35 mph zone on 10/12/12. Was not aware the speed limit changed at Main Street and Acme Street"

Just be brief. They want to hear if you have an excuse for being driving under the influence or road rage, etc.

Oh okay. Thank you very much! I'll keep it short and sweet then.
