I took 2 classes for the Master's in Nursing degree at my local (50 miles away from my house) university because I would like to get my Master's in Nursing to become a Nurse Educator. I'd like to pursue on online master's instead and with all the online programs out there now, I really dont know how to go about choosing the right one. Does it make a difference? All of them say that they are accredited; however some schools are accredited by one league and then another school is accredited by some other association, etc. Is there one main accredidation that the school absolutely should have? I'm confused!!!

Here's a link I found while googling around:

As long as your program is either CCNE or NLN approved, it's fine. Stay away from programs that aren't accredited by either.

Thanks deej, good information on that thread that I hadn't seen before.
Thanks a lot for all those links to info. Do you pretty much get about the same education from an online program vs. attending classes at a regular university?

Hi there, I'm in an online program through Indiana State University for FNP. They also offer a Nurse Educator program if you're interested in checking them out. Through my research, they appear to be comparable to other programs both online and traditional. My first semester ended and I found it to be challenging and educational. If you have any further questions, I'll be happy to answer them! They are NLN and regionally accredited.

I would say yes. I'm not in a Master program myself, but a BSN and I'm getting a good quality education. My spouse did t a Masters in Health Care Administration and feels the same way.
