How do you take notes for class, anyway?

Ok, I have some messy piles of paper staring me in the face from last semester and I want to be more organized this semester. Here is the thing--I like to take reading notes but when I add lecture notes it gets super sloppy. Do you guys type them up? I wish I was brave enough to bring my lap top to school but I havent seen anyone do that...I think I would feel really conspicuous.

Any good ideas??

My teachers use Powerpoints during lectures. I print off copies of the PPs, and take notes on them during class. When I read the assigned chapters at home I take notes of the important concepts on my computer and print them out. I keep my notes and the PPs in a binder; I have one for each class. I organize and divide my notes by week. It helps me keep organized - organization is a very big deal to me! :up:
