**How to study for the GRE??**

Published

Hello all! I am in the process of getting my BSN and I am wanting to take the GRE as soon as I can so I can focus directly on my other CRNA pre-reqs. I was wanting to know what programs/books you all used?? I saw this turbo prep class online that is like 1300 dollars. It is 5 days long and they garuntee a minimum score of 1300. Has anyone heard of it?? I have been out of the math/extensive grammar scene for many years so I am extremely rusty. So bad that I forgot how to add fractions. I know, it's terrible. I need some help! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks so much! :DFuture

Thank you all for the wonderful responses and advice. I think I'm just going to buy a kaplan/princeton review book and take the classes that they offer! :)

Thanks again! :)

I'm studying for the GRE right now. I have found in the last 2 weeks that my math skills have progressed exponentially but the verbal sections give me the hardest time. I'm studying from the Kaplan GRE math/verbal review books. I also believe that not everyone has the capacity to score a 1300. I've found that in the verbal section you either know the word or you don't, simple as that. however, the math section is testing your logic more than your general knowledge. I believe that if you don't remeber how to add fractions than definitely study to refresh your skills, but the GRE will test logic and efficiency. I also believe that if you can improve your score anywhere its more likely going to be your verbal section, because you can actually study to learn those GRE words.

i studied baron by myself no class and i boomed the verbal section english is my second language aswell so i highly recommend taking a class its pricey but so worth it..goodluck

Hello all!

I am wanting to know if anyone has heard of the MLIC Turboprep GRE course. It is quite pricey and I can't seem to find any honest reviews about it.....you know...besides the website testimonials. I did find one chatroom and 4 people said it is really good but I want to hear some of your opinions!

Thanks! :)

I agree with many above. The Kaplan GRE book I found helpful and they have a list of common words and I saw many of them on the exam. I scored around 1200 I think and the bookds helped me.

As stated above, knowing words is important, if you know a word it makes the comparison much easier. Math is nothing complicated just practice practice.

At the end, take a practice exam and this will give you a great idea on how your are doing. Take a couple of days off beforehand and relax. I am not usually great at those type of tests.
