How would you say my interview went?

Nurses Career Support

Published

[color=#333333]i recently just got my cna license as a pre-nursing student and was lucky enough to score an interview at one of the regions best hospitals for a tech position. i met with the nurse manager who seemed really nice and understanding, she made me feel really comfortable during the interview. she also managed to show me around the unit and meet some of the other staff members. she asked me about my schedule and seemed to like the fact that i was in nursing school and told me the hospital offers tuition reimbursement.

[color=#333333]the second part of the interview was with the unit secretary considering i would be working with her a lot. she didn't seem to like the fact that i was a student and kept questioning my ability to attend to school and work. it seemed like she was being a little rude b/c she kept repeating herself in different ways.

[color=#333333]it doesn't make sense, i mean, its a teaching hospital and they have a tuition reimbursement program for a reason.

[color=#333333]it went well with the hr manager and the nurse manager but not so much the unit secretary. i feel a little discouraged that the secretary was skeptical of me being a student.

[color=#333333]anyone been in a similar situation and still got the job?

She's the unit secretary. Who cares what she thinks! All you should care about is what the nurse manager and HR thinks. They have the final say. Not some secretary. She probably has some huge chip on her shoulder cause she's stuck in her crappy position, and she's taking it out on someone who's movings up in your career.

Thanks :) However, I didn't get the job. I'm guessing it's because I'm in school....lame.
