I want to take my Hesi a2 Entrance exam and I'm kinda nervous. I need help! How are the Anatomy&Physiology question presented?

Specializes in NICU, PICU, PCVICU and peds oncology.

Welcome to allnurses.com Bossladyangg. We're the world's largest and busiest social networking site for nurses on the Web and a great resource for nursing students. Questions on the HESI A2 are formatted similar to the NCLEX format. There are 25 A&P questions that cover basic knowledge at a lower college level and include questions about terminology, basic anatomic structure and systems. Let me make up an example question for you...

Which of the following is/are true about the acromioclavicular joint?

a) It is a gliding synovial joint.

b) It connects the scapula to the clavicle.

c) Most injuries to this joint occur in collision sports such as ice hockey, rugby and football.

d) All of the above.

e) None of the above.

Here's another one.

A person with liver failure would display which signs and symptoms?

a) Fatty stools (steatorrhea)

b) Periorbital edema

c) Bleeding

d) both a and b

e) both a and c

f) all of the above

Does that help?

Omg Thank You that really helped me. So your saying that it is 25 questions only for A&P portion? what about the rest.

I took the HESI A2 in September. I used the HESI Admission Assessment Exam Review book (published by Elsevier, the company that designs the test) as my main study guide for the A&P portion, as well as the other sections my college required. The test questions on the actual exam were exactly the same types of questions as in the study guide. I also reviewed my A&P textbook and another study guide called The Complete Idiot's Guide to Nursing Entrance Exams. If you use the study guides (which I bought online, and might be available at your local library or bookstore) and review the A&P study section (and any of the other sections you need to take, i.e. biology, math, grammar, vocabulary) and practice questions with answers given in the book, you will be prepared. Also check out the practice questions on online sites like hesia2.org.

Good luck!!

On the test I took, there were also 25 questions in the biology section, 50 questions each in the grammar and vocabulary sections, and I believe 50 questions in the math section. I had to take the reading comprehension section, and those questions were broken up across about six reading passages that I had to interpret. I had 4 hours to take all six sections (in one sitting).
