I was wondering how to prepare for a summer class, considering they are a lot more condensed and I have a lot more free time to study (only class I will be taking in the summer) but the course I am taking won't be easy. How is A&P2 in a summer week course? (8 weeks) What should I expect to learn? I got a B in A&P 1. Thank you all.

Watch Youtube lectures on digestive, endocrine, circulatory, lymphatic, respiratory, urinary, and reproductive systems. It doesn't have to make sense now, but it's helpful to be exposed to it since summer is such a short term. Brush up on A&P1 if you can. Be familiar with action potential, all types of epithelial and connective tissues etc. A lot of what you learn in the first course comes back :) good luck

Basically be prepared to have no life....I took AP I in the summer and swore I would never take another science like that again (mostly due to instructor difficulties). But AP 2 went much smoother!
Spend as much time as you can in the lab, getting that hands on experience will make everything easier (if your a hands on/visual learner). It helped me because I was actually able to see the path that everything took through the body and see the changes as the moved system to system.
I also agree with llama, watch the utube videos on all the systems, I personally bought the anatomy coloring book to help out too. My lab team and I would make copies and tackle them together to study.
GET A STUDY TEAM TOGETHER EARLY, this above all else will help with the amount of material in the short amount of time.
Hope this helps, and good luck!!

If you took A&P1 and have the same professor for A&P II then you know what to expect as far as the type of questions you will see. From my experience A&P II is now more difficult and from my perspective is easier as a result of having a basic understanding of the terminology and how each system corresponds with the others. Just remember that it is more condensed so you will be moving along faster. Good luck

I'll give you my two pennies.. I took A&P I last summer and didn't do hot and had to retake it in fall and got an A. This summer I'm taking microbiology and I researched my professor heavily before making my decesion.
What to expect in A&P II?
You learn about every body system.
Circulatory, respiratory, urinary, lymphatics, digestive, endocrine.
Study advice: I got a 95.76% in this class and this is how.
Take a few days to master one system. Don't half ass it. Master it. Read the chapter, do the extra work and quiz yourself. Then move onto next unit and "Master it" after that go back and see what you remember from last system and what you forgot go over again. You have to fall in love with learning to do great in this class. Quiz yourself about, "Why would I need to know this as a nurse?" Connect the dots between each system. How endocrine effects the kidneys, heart, respiratory, ect. Take this in chunks and constantly quiz yourself in the shower, driving, in your SLEEP! I bought a marker board to write the path of blood in the body over and over. I wrote the endocrine functions over and over. I made sure no rock went unturned and I literally "mastered A&P". Now I have to do that for micro??? When is it over?
