I will be starting my prerequisite on Sept next month and I am very excited as this has been a dream for me to become a nurse. At the same time, I am very anxious though and a bit overwhelmed maybe because Im kind of thinking ahead of myself. I must admit that I am not a MATH person and I heard that there will be dosage calculations and such. I have all the determination and passion to learn all the medical math needed to succeed on becoming a nurse. I am willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my ultimate dream. So Im asking everyone to please give me your BEST TIPS onto surviving nursing school as being a "NEW STUDENT"
FYI-I am already a Medical Assistant graduate but I heard that Nursing is definitely way different to compare from the MA program thats why Im asking anyways.
Please kindly response and Thank You much in advance! God Bless!😊

It has been *cough cough* many years since I attended nursing school. While perhaps confusing at first, once I understood the use of dimensional analysis (pretty much my preferred method for med calc), med math seemed pretty easy. You may find this resource helpful: Student Resources: Nursing Math. Good luck!

I believe pre-reqs are easy and if you put the time to study you could get A's and a high GPA - don't worry about the math - Nursing math is not hard you just have to practice a lot - the Math courses you will have to take before nursing school wont be that hard. The only thing to do is practice questions every day! Good luck!
