I am retaking it Wednesday. I took it back in November and failed by 4 points. I used David woodruffs review, laura gasperis, pass ccrn book, and the aacn review book.

Hi there! I used Dr. Laura Gasparis DVD's and passed on the first sitting... I hope that helps you.

You have to watch the Gasparis DVDs. It's all I studied for endocrine/hem/renal/GI and I got 100% in 3 of those sections. Cardiac/pulmonary/neuro require more, I really liked the Ahrens Critical Care Nursing Certification book. It does go a bit more into detail than necessary, but just focus on what you need to know. I also used the Gasparis Q&A book, which I found very helpful.

Look at the test blue print and study those topics. Make your own notes.

I just recently took and passed the CCRN and the CEN within a month. I had trouble with CEN even though i work in the ER. The questions are not as specific as the CCRN. I used the Gasparis DVD (watched twice and took notes) and the Pass CCRN questions (must've done close to 1000 questions). You can do it. Good luck.

I agree-- the CEN seemed more difficult than the CCRN despite that I also work in the ER. There was so much psychosocial on the CCRN that I found to be very easy.

Passed the CCRN a few days ago! I used Gasparis DVD's that are really old and did the AACN CCRN review webinar which is more detailed than Gasparis videos. I also did AACN and Pass CCRN practice questions. The practice questions seem so much harder than the actual exam.

I used Laura G's lecture videos and watched it close to ten times. One last time the night before I took the test. I like to cram and it works for me all the time. I also watched more in depth videos on YouTube on topics that I need more explanation. I did about a thousand practice questions for mental aerobics as Laura described it. Passed it on first sitting. Good luck to you!
