I've heard Margaret Fitzgeralds stuff is the best but seems like ANCC's stuff would focus more on the test content. I just graduated with my MSN FNP and want to get certified on the first try. Any suggestions?
I was surprised a little by the questions. It was 100% clinically focused. No theory, legal, ethical or research questions at all. I guess it's the ANCC exam that includes those type of questions. It took me 2 hours total, including marking several questions, taking 2 bathroom breaks, reviewing every question at the end and staring at the "you have passed" screen for awhile! I am glad that I did not postpone it. The waiting is absolutely brutal!
I am going to sit for ANCC on 9/21 and would like to know if anyone has any new suggestions on studying for the theory/roles/policy portion of the test. I am feeling very overwhelm and have done the APEA with Ameliee Hollier and studied the ANCC study book looking at Fitz now. I have taken many many practice test and scored ok but not feeling very confident. Any advice
Hey its Kelly NP, I know this is bizarre but this is the only way I could think of to respond. Someone sent me an email I believe on Tuesday and I accidentally deleted without saving the address to respond. Whoever did if you read this please email me again so I can get back to you. Hello all!!!!! I love this site, we are like one big family all trying to get by! Thanks to all those who have supported me and continue to do so. Oct. 2nd is the big day!!!:)
Hello all,
I have read everyones thoughts on taking the exam. I am taking mine in 4 weeks. I have Fitzgerald cd,s as well as took her review. I thought it was horribly boring as they read straight from the syllabus. However, I have been listening and reading all of Amelie Holliers stuff. So, whoever has taken the AANP and listened to Holliers cd's and review books/questions please respond and let me know if her stuff helped with the exam. She is just so easy to listen and learn from. I feel like I don't know anything and am anxious as can be! Thanks
FNPGrad,
Out of all your review material, which do you think helped you the most? Like you, I am looking at everything and am very overwhelmed. I saw the new Fitz book and did not know if I should get it because I have her syllabus from attending the live review course. At present, I am listening to Amelie Hollier's cd's, her syllabus and Fitz syllabus and continuously answering questions. I have not set a test date yet but maybe the third week October. I just feel so unprepared. Please help!!!
Kelly I would like to speak with you on email. mine is [email protected]
