How is an online RN to BSN program viewed by other universities?

I am currently a nursing student and in 2016 I will graduate with my ADN. My plan is to get my BSN possibly online and then get my master's from a university in a different state. My question is, is the online RN-BSN looked down upon? Will it lower my chances of getting into a graduate program at a universitiy? If I had it my way, I would get my BSN on campus but there aren't any but online close to home. And I do not plan to leave until after my bachelors. Thanks.

My opinion: your best bet is to get your BSN from a school that has both online and live classroom options, as schools that have this choice are usually accredited and reputable. I would never consider getting my BSN from an exclusively online school (Univ of Phoenix, Kaplan, Etc.). I have my BSN already, but in the case of MSN, live program for me!!

I would also recommend choosing a school that has both on-campus classes as well as an online program. Choose an established, not-for-profit university with graduate program, a long history, and a good reputation. That will give you a better chance of having your degree be respected and all of your academic work accepted as legitimate.

Ok thankyou!

I will be completing a BSN from chamberlain online. For MSN it will be in classroom

There are plenty of State Universities that have online RN to BSN programs...University of Wisconsin,Arizizona State, and California State University Dominguez Hills are a few I can think of off the top of my head if you are that concerned about it stick with them - State University Credentials the safest bet for transfer though I'm sure there are many other for-profits that are just fine as well.

Well, my school is for profit (BSN), however, it was important to me to have a ground campus complete with dorms, etc.. It makes it more real IMO. If I decide to go for my MSN, it will probably be a ground campus if my work schedule allows.
