How old were you when you became an RN?

Published

Hello all,

I have question. How old were you when you became a nurse, how long did it take you to complete the program?

I'm 31, will be 32 in October. I seriously feel too old to continue with school. Single mother of two, 12 y/o & 9 y/o. Ugh, nursing is all I ever wanted but I don't know anymore. It's so tough to get into a program here in Chicago. I get so down about it. I'm wrapping up my prerequisites.

Hopefully, I'll be 22!

I had just turned 23 the month before

39, it was a two year ASN program of which I had already completed all the perquisites before starting in the schools nursing program. Completed my BSN at 43.

25 as an LPN, 36 for RN. Your still young. If it's what you truly want then go for it. Your children will be proud of you.
