What is the cost of a 1 bedroom apartment in QLSD and NSW?

Also, can anyone provide any good websites for searching for apartments?

I've been having one heck of a time trying to find a decent website with very useful information.

Rental in brisbane QLD is pretty bad, people are actually offering more than the requested rent to get properties. i think it depends where you want to live/work in QLD.

Rural areas are usually cheaper than city areas.

In Brisbane bedroom appt are not that common, at a guess they would range between 170- 250pw depending on suburb and surroudings.

Also time of year - take into account commencement of uni.

i believe you are only allowed to put in one application at a time.

Is it better to purchase a townhouse/unit and pay the same mortgage price as you would rent? This way you wouldn't be wasitng money.

You would also have to consider rates, maintenance, water, and if you are in a unit, strata title/bodycorporate. A town house would not require the latter if it is "stand alone"
