How much notice to give

am currently a dns of a snf. i've been there for 8 months....been dns for only 3....if i get the job i want elsewhere, how much notice do all y'all think is proper? i thought 4 weeks, but my friend who has been a nurse forever and is very wise tells me i really only have to give 2 weeks because i've been there for less than a year.

I've heard the vacation rule as well. Since I am new, I have 2 weeks of vacation time. But,as most of us know, the DNS is a hard job to fill. There is no way I would stay till they found someone. I'm thinking between 2 and 3 weeks depending on the new job (if I even get the job!)
