Hello, I live in Bakersfield Ca and I want to move back to denver when i Graduate fron the nursing program, I just need to know how much new grads are being paid? I have heard of $23-$25, here in bakersfield the starting is $28. I wish i could stay here in bakersfield because of the pay, but the air quality is too bad and my kids are feeling it already.

what are the chances of finding work immediately after grad, in hospitals, outpatient clinics and other clinics.

Specializes in Emergency, Pre-Op, PACU, OR.

You can, but the market is tight. It helps if you did your senior practicum here or worked as a CNA/tech while in school, that is how many I know got their job offers after graduation. If you are open to the floor/specialty and are ok with night shifts it will definitely help in your search.

You will have an extremely difficult time getting into a hospital as a new grad here unless you have connections. It is ridiculously competitive right now.

Also, if you don't have a BSN, it's pretty much impossible to get in as a new grad in a hospital program.

OMG!I am going for my BSN,is it a good idea to have one to two years experience before moving?

Yes. However, you can also apply to some of the new grad programs in the Denver area, and you might luck out.

Don't move until you have a job lined up.
