How much does the LPN/LVN-RN Progam cost?

For those who have completed the Excelsior Online Nursing program, how much did it cost? Is there any federal financial aid offered or do you have to pay out of pocket?

I just want to say congrats to all who have completed this program and made it through. I was wondering about this because I am thinking of doing a local LVN program here in Dallas and since Texas does in fact accept Excelsior, I wanted to go ahead and complete the ADN program when I am finished since I will have to work and Excelsior seems perfect.

Excelsiors site has a cost estimator form (here, you may need to be logged in to see it?).

I think my total cost was $13,000-15,000 including my study material and tutoring (which I used very little of the tutoring). I used DLSI for my study material and tutoring (similar to college network but not as bad).

I probably spent $4000 more than I should have using DLSI tutoring.

I have spent approx $5500 for test fees, enrollment fee, and CPNE cost included. I used Studyguide 101 for the study material so that cost was the least expensive. My prereqs were completed prior so that helped save a bit of money and this is the same amount I would have spent going to a community college so no complaints here.

Financial aid is not available for the challenge exams only if you take the (longer , more expensive but beneficial for many) online courses.

There are low cost payment plans where you can spread your costs over 2-6 payments depending on the amount.

My job and my wallet was my financial aid! I utilized the payment plans for everything except the exams. I paid straight out for those and took exams every 2 weeks. I used the payment plans for the enrollment and cpne. Too bad we can use it for the travel expenses lol
