So...Im applying for other nursing jobs....and I just wanted to know how much of a change in pay I should ask for since I have some experience now...what is appropriate?
DON't do the "calcuate your job salary online" thingy....it embarassed me during my interview!
According to those websites (several of them) I put down $35.00 an hour (I just moved to the Seattle area) and they all said between $32.00-$37.00 so I went with the middle range because I have experience.
I was so embarassed when the HR said "Um I dont think I can offer you what you are looking for" with a strange look on his face. Said unless I had "10 years of critical care experience" I would not get paid that.
I am a very humble person, so this was embarassing for me :)

unemployment rate, etc., etc.
It never fails to amaze me how little research people do on prospective employers or employment opportunities.
Also, I'm a strong believer in marketing (yourself). You maybe a fantastic nurse, but you have to convince your prospective employer of this first. The more convincing you are, the more you can ask for, even in this economy.
