I did post this question first in the CRNA forum instead of where it more so belongs- in the pre-CRNA forum. So I re-posted it here.
I read through most of the archives and have gained so much valuable information. Thank you to everyone that has contributed.
I've read in the *Read first* section that Nilepoc suggests only applying to 2 or 3 CRNA schools. After doing some searches, I haven't found much other info on this topic. I have been finding while talking to physicians, that as pre-med students they would usually apply to 25+ schools, so as to better their chances.
I would really like to hear from any SRNA's or CRNA's about how many schools they applied to/ how many interviews/ how may acceptance letters.
Thanks

Applied to two schools.
Interviewed at two schools.
Accepted at two schools.
Thanks for your reply. Very helpful. If you look at the responses I got both here on the pre-CRNA forum and on the CRNA forum, statistically speaking the people that replied must be the exception rather than the rule. I can only hope to be able to stand out as well as the rest of you.

Hi, I've applied to five schools. Got interview invites to all five. Have interviewed at two so far. Made the alternate list at one, rejected by one, and waiting on two other interviews. The fifth interview, I decided not to attend due to location of the school.
I have relatively less experience than the successful applicants at the two schools where I interviewed (according to post-interview feedback that I requested). I will have two years full time ICU experience by June this year.
I hope this helps me in my upcoming interviews, one at OHSU (new program in Portland, Oregon) and Wolford College in Naples, Florida.
If I don't make those schools, I will reapply to four of the five schools and add a new one (Arizona) to my portfolio. As you can see, I am determined to do this!

I applied to 2 schools but only interviewed at 1 because they accepted me before I interviewed at the second school. However, most people I know apply to at least 2 or 3 places. But you should definitely apply to places where you would be willing to relocate. For some people, it's not a matter of when but where and they are willing to keep reapplying to a few schools no matter how long it takes to get in. Hope this helps.

I applied to two schools pretty much because they are both located in the city in which I live...very lucky for me. I interviewed at two and was accepted into one.

Applied to one school and accepted at that school. Really needed a school close to the wife and house. Was told it could go either way with amount of schools you apply to-only 1, then they may view the situation that you don't really want to be a CRNA or it can show a commitment to the school of choice. Regardless, they will take the best applicants for the program. Good luck to you and anyone else who is trying to further their education!

probably around 6 or so for me.. got an interview for 3, interviewed 2, accepted 1, and conditional 1, rejected 2... i agree that it depends and could go either way, but when talking to others, specifically ad-coms, and students/crnas, many can mean u really want to, and will do whatever it takes, and one can mean dedication to that specific one.. they also could go the other way as well.. when interviewing, it isn't necessary to say "8", but say "a few" or the like.. especially sell the one you're at during the interview, which is what i did, and i think that helps..
good luck - -
