I practiced on and off for about 5 mos before graduation this May, I kicked it into gear about 2 weeks before I took exam and did anywhere from 1000-2000 Q's. I used Saunder's 4th Ed for content, and Kaplan's Strategies to get the gist of what I was in for. I couldn't afford to take the class.
Took NCLEX Tuesday June 29th and passed with 75 Q's. I already have my license in hand!
YIPPEEE!
Good Luck!
congrats! I'm taking my NCLEX-RN this week! I took the Kaplan review course and have done a few chapters in LaCharity. I have probably done around 2000 questions. My Kaplan scores weren't that great, but I did improve from the beginning of the course. Any advice for first time NCLEX-RN test takers?
I just wanted to get a feel for what, generally, people were doing to prepare. I have read the Kaplan 2010 book front to back, did all the questions, including those were on the CD (for the 180 question tests, 2 are included with the book, i scored a 69 and 70). I also have done the entire LaCharity book. I utilized exam cram for some questions, lippincott for some questions, and davis for some questions. So far I have done 1500 questions...doesnt seem like that much but it seems to be on par with most of your posts! As for advice, I think we all need to CHILL OUT! LOL, I think dealing with the stress of NCLEX is probably harder then the exam itself! I test on wednesday! Good luck all!

How many NCLEX questions did you do prior to sitting for the boards? Did you pass/fail? Did you take a review course?
