How many hours do you work each week?

Published

Hi all I thought it might be interesting to see how much we all work...

Pretty simple, just state which unit you work in, how many years you've been there and the average amount of hours you put in each week.

Specializes in School Nursing.

Roughly 40 hours, 7:40-3:10 M-F, holidays and summer off (love school nursing!). I do stay late, especially at the beginning of the year, as needed and no OT because I'm salary, but it does not happen too much.

Specializes in ICU, nutrition.

I work metabolic support (TPN/TF/nasoduodenal feeding tube placement). I work 40 hrs/wk. 4-10s. Sometimes 6-4:30, usually 7-5:30. I absolutely LOVE my schedule. I work every 6th weekend and every 6th Saturday on call. I'm on call the Saturday before my weekend. If I want to I can pick up an extra shift in one of the critical care units, usually SICU, and then I work a 12. I average an extra shift each pay period, but only if I want to.
