How low does the census have to be before you get laid off

Published

I work in Louisiana HH and I started out last year with a census of 25 to CM and I am down to 14! We are having a hard time getting patients and I am hoping things will pick up since I actually love my job. There are 5 RNs with a case load of 25 max each. We each have about 14-16 each now :(

Are you pay per visit or salaried? That would make a difference.

Every company is different. I doubt any of us can tell you for sure.

Not a case manager scenario, but may happen to a field nurse: You figure out your employer has gotten rid of you when you see three employment ads in the two and a half months you have not been offered work, yet every time you call to remind them you exist, they assure you they have no work available. The ads refer to all the available work and may even list specifics.

You should keep the lines of communication open from your end, so you don't get phased out without your knowledge.
