How long should you wait before knowing you didn't get the job???

I am just wondering if i submitted an application for a PCT position, how long before i can accept that i just wasn't what they were looking for? Its been a miserable 6 days since, tomorrow will count a full week. I am so nervous wondering every single day dreading the "what if's"....... PLEASE HELP:uhoh3::heartbeat:confused:

I am going through this myself..applied for, was interviewed for, took the drug test for a job and signed for the background check to be done..it's been 5 days now and I've heard nothing. I plan to wait until the end of the week then send an email to the secretary to check on my status. In the meantime I'm going to other interviews and am sooooo tired of interviewing..I just want a steady job that I can enjoy and get on w/this part of my life:yeah:
