I couldn't find any posts on here recently except for something back in 2008/2009, but I wanted some help from recent grads or Canadian RN's who decided to work in the US.
I'm taking my NCLEX exam on August 31st, however, I was wondering what process you went through in order to obtain your TN visa? I live across the boarder from Detroit, MI. There's few places to pick from to work at here where I live, and I wanted the take advantage of being able to work in both Cananda and parts of the US as an RN (provided I pass my NCLEX). I'm a Canadian citizen, so I'm eligable for the TN visa through the NAFTA agreement... provided I have a job offer. I am pretty confused about the whole process.
Do I get the visascreen done first? before nclex? after nclex? and only a TN visa after a job offer?

Moved to the International forum as nothing to do with actually working in Canada
VSC can take anything from 2-4 months to be received from CGFNS. Prices are on the CGFNS website
TN visa is applied for at the border with necessary documents like employment letter and vsc. Although not been discussed for a while there are a few threads that discuss the TN visa

Hey just wondering if you got your visa screen and how long it took. I'm in the process of completing mine right now but I've done my CES with CGFNS so is it not possible to use the same paper work for the education part? Any advice will help.
Thank you! =)
If you have gone through the CES process then the same docs can be used. You will however need to send NCLEX results in for VSC. Process takes 2-4 months
Thanks so much for all your help! Just one last thing...how would I submit my NCLEX results for my VSC? Would that be through pearsonvue?
There should be a form in the VSC handbook which you send to the BON plus there usually is a small fee, should be on BON website
