How long did it take to get accepted into NS?

Published

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.... But, How long did it take to get accepted into Nursing School after you were done with your pre-requisites?

Is there another school close to you that you can take A&P? I wouldn't dream of going into the program without having A&P I & II out of the way actually I would finish all my prereqs. first make life much easier on you when your in the program.

Good luck

Im going for the RN program. I have to take 2 semesters of prereqs and then they will be all done. :) If i cant get into one right away I'm going to do most of the non-nursing courses....

I won't be getting into the program until next fall regardless because I still have to have my math class. So, I still have time to get it in the Spring. It just makes me mad because I really wanted it this fall.

YUP!!!! only 3 weeks!!!!! BUT I dont start until the spring which is ok because they are making me take bio-medical ethich, theology, and an extra humanities in the upper division level. So i have to take that in the fall and then im in!!!! Food luck to you

I wait a year so I could get both A&P's and Micro out of the way. I really don't think you'll regret waiting once you are in the program. I was in A&P II with 6 nursing students and they all were really stressed out, out of the 6 only 2 passed, 2 passed nursing but because they did not pass A&P they were not admitted back into the program. I know one girl, it was her second time in A&P (you can only take it 2x) so she'll have to go else where to take it and then hope they admit her back into the program plus she has to work as a CNA I for a year in order to get back in. It just creates a can of worms.

I don't know Kat. I just don't know WHAT to do. Right now, I'm leaning towards the LPN because I want to hurry up and get out there working. We have a beltway coming through our home in 4 more years and I need a job so we can start saving for good downpayment on a new home. They'll be buying our home from us, but we've heard that they don't always give fair market value no matter how hard you fight.

I don't want to keep working as a CNA because it's so limited what I can do. At least being an LPN, I can do more. Maybe not as much as an RN, but more than a CNA. Plus, there are a TON of job openings in my are for LPN's.
