Dear qualified UK nurses: I have recently finished my course in Adult Nursing and have interviewed this week for a band 5 and got the job. Am I correct that it is after the Board of Examiners evaluate your coursework and then the uni sends something to either you or directly to the NMC...??? Can anyone please clarify the process and timescale? This has been brilliant to join, I have been staying up reading here for the past two nights. Thanks to everyone.

NMC don't usually take long and you used to be able to work whilst waiting for it although may have restrictions.

You won't be able to work as a qualified nurse until you have your pin.
It can take up to 6 weeks for the paperwork to be processed.
