They are giving me 3 days which is about all I need because I am a very quick learner

I was given three weeks. Good luck with everything.

12 days between 5 units. 2 days each on the 3 'easier', and 3 days on each of the 2 more difficult. My general facility orientation was 3 days. Good luck!

10 full days. And believe me, I needed it. I get flustered easily. In addition to learning the routine of the place, you need to learn all the residents. I was trained on 2 units, which means I encountered 8 different assignments so obviously most of them were not more than once.

Specializes in 6 yrs LTC, 1 yr MedSurg, Wound Care.

I applied on a Friday, started work on a Monday, and was put on a 2 person hall and stayed there for about 8 months and became best friends with the girl that trained me. Lol! I didn't really have an orientation, so to speak. She let me watch most everything the first couple of days and I helped with transfers and jumped in where I could until I figured out what was actually going on!

They are giving me 3 days.. are their any tips or tricks to remembering ALL the residents names and such? I'm having a hard time with it lol

Remembering names just takes time. You'll know them on a first name basis AND their room number, diet

, diaper size, etc. before you know it! ;) My snf did 3 days of shadowing, 2 days hands on orientation, then I was on my own. Good luck!
