How long is NMC UK application?

Hey guys! I'm a Filipino Nurse and I've been applying in NMC for my application in the UK so I could proceed with ONP. I'm done with my pack 1 and just called the NMC about it, they mentioned that they have sent my pack 2. However, it's been almost a month that I still don't have the mail. Do u know how long will it take to arrive in the Phils? How long have u had to wait before you received your decision letter?

The full application pack was forwarded by me on the third week of April whereas the other requirements were sent by the registration bodies, referees and college on the last week of the same month.

I submitted my application pack 2 almost on the same date as yours, the courier delivered them may 2 to the nmc, almost the same time, they received the school documents from my college, as well as the one from prc. does this mean we will wait until july to received a DL in case no problem with the papers? what if they will have questions?at about what period they will call us? do u have any idea?thanks

Hi marvs. If they have any questions or require additional papers, it will take the same time as when you'd be expecting your DL. At least from what I went through. I sent my Pack 2 around 2nd week of Feb. My friend called NMC to follow up and he was told that I should expect the decision around 3rd of April. All hopes up. But instead of waiting for my DL, the letter I received contained a request for additional papers. :cry: Just imagine how distressed I was. Anyway, I requested the document immediately but when I followed up on my parcel, my school was only able to send the document around the 3rd wk of May. When we called up NMC again, we were told I should expect an answer approximately in two months and get the letter a few weeks from the time they send my letter. The same time-frame I was told before, despite it being an additional document only. Harsh, right? I saw a reply to your comment on my post awhile back(DL that can take about 3wks) and my hopes got high, yet again. :) Anyway, goodluck to all of us. :)

If we are to base it from what the agent told me, the earliest time frame for them to come up with a decision would be after 3 weeks. Also, we may call the NMC after a month to follow up, say, a fortnight from today but usually it should not take more than 90 days if they will NOT require additional documents to support our applications or to re-accomplish the forms, which hopefully won't happen. For further advisory, they will reach us by post and by then we may call them for enquiries. You're welcome marvs.

Waiting gives us a hard time and knowing that we should add some more patience makes it more difficult. However, by looking at the brighter side, among those papers they received, yours is being reviewed and anytime they will be sending you a decision letter. thanks che_rn for your reply. is it ok to ask what was the problem of your school records?or the additional docs the NMC requested? it seems they are really unstable in terms of the requirements. i also had an experience when i submitted my pack 1. it was stated there that there's no need for the requirements to be certified photocopies. so i sent mine only to receive a letter (after almost two months...) from NMC to send again my board certificate and birth certificate, which should be certified photocopies. so i had them notarized and send again.

Waiting gives us a hard time and knowing that we should add some more patience makes it more difficult. Yep. Waiting is really hard especially when you're expecting something else. Anyway, my hopes are still all high, hoping against all hope that they can now compute my hours especially so because they asked for an additional document. God bless us all.

They asked me to provide a breakdown of hours from the first school where I started my Nursing Degree. I'm a transferee, hence, they asked me to provide a breakdown for both. Quite frustrating because when I started processing my second pack, I was already contemplating this and asked NMC if I should ask both schools to provide, which I was told it wasn't necessary as being a transferee, the school where I finished my degree should be able to provide the information NMC needed. So imagine my surprise when, after 2months of waiting, they asked me to go back to my old school and provide the document they said I didn't need to accomplish. Good thing I was already able to request for a breakdown during the time I was accomplishing my Pack 2. Had I not, it would've taken me 2 more weeks to provide the document... 2 additional weeks I can't risk. :( At this point I'm still waiting but all hopes are high. I know God has a reason for my delay. :)

I accepted your friend request just now. May be you'll be able to send me a message now (?). Anyway, that's also what they told me last month when I informed them about the email from Search. A lot really depends on that DL. There's no problem if I will join the 3rd batch early next year but it is better to join the November batch. Like you I am waiting for the update from them regarding what they came up with during their meeting last 29th of May.
