How long after graduation for licensure

What is the process of obtaining licensure? How long did it take you? Any advice helpful:)

It depends on how long it takes your school to get your transcripts sent to the certifying organization and then when you schedule your exam. Then you have to pass and the state has to process everything and give you a license. So it takes a couple of months at least.

It took two months to the date after I graduated and one month after my degree conferred and I was certified. Usually the schools process this important info rather fast. It's nothing like waiting for the NCLEX.

I graduated in early May, degree not conferred until June 1st and then waiting for the information from school to be sent over to ANCC, AZ board of nursing. I think it took me 3mos. I was moving from NY to AZ which complicated things. I did check in with other students who were staying in the same state and it took them just as long. It was quite an annoying process. GOod luck and start the paperwork as soon as you can.

It depends on the state you are in. I live in NJ and it is notoriously slow in processing applications. Ditto for California. I was officially licensed by NJ 3 months after I graduated and about 7 weeks after I passed my exam. My friends in PA had a much easier, faster time of it.

Graduated September 1st.

Took and Passed ANCC October 26th.

Was Licensed in NM on November 18th.

Got DEA License December 17th.
