How Long Does Utah's BON Take to Approve Request for Licensure?

Hi there,

So I was wondering how long it took Utah to give you the Approval to Test (ATT) from the time you turned in your application? Same thing for endorsement (since the process and application packet is nearly the same)...how long after you turned in your application for endorsement did it take for Utah to give you your new license?

I spoke with several people from Utah's BON and they told me they are quick about it and that it typically only takes 1-2 weeks. But this just sounds a little fishy to me and I really want to make sure I'm not waiting more than a month to get my ATT. So I would just like some personal experience on how long it took people (in regards to specifically Utah).

Thanks! :)

P.S. I'm going to school in Louisiana but plan to live and work in Utah immediately after graduation. I mainly want to know all this info so I can make my final decision as to whether I want to apply for licensure in Louisiana and get an endorsement with Utah or if I should just apply directly to Utah and save myself all the trouble of have to pay extra fees/take extra steps.

Hey just curious if you applied to the Utah BON and got your ATT number yet? I am wondering the same thing about how long it takes. I originally applied in Ohio but they are super behind so I'm thinking about switching. So if you have your number, how long did it take between applying for it and getting it? Hope your job search is going well!

When I applied a year-and-a-half ago, I think it took about a week. It took longer for my degree to post than it did to get my ATT. If you're planning on moving and working here right after you graduate, I would just apply for a Utah license and save yourself the extra hassle and extra $$$.

Good luck!
