  1. Thank you! And no not at all! I had 75 questions. I used a combination of the following to study: - lipincott's NCLEX RN 10,000 Prep-U - NCLEX RN Mastery app (on my phone) - and I basically just re-read all the main concepts in that giant med surg book I have. From the concepts I felt needed to be memorized (like various vitals and other things you can't "understand." Things you just have to know), I made my own quizlet cards and went over it a couple of times.
  2. I passed!!!!! I just found out 5 minutes ago. I took the test at 8am, Monday, July 6th and the results were up by around 11:30-11:45 pm Tuesday the 7th on DOPL. I did not find any "tricks" that were worth taking. Pearson Vue has a "quick results" option where you can see if you passed or not 48 hours after you take the test for $7.95 (the site shows if you passed but if you did, it's not the same thing as a license. You have to wait till the state board puts up your result). But DOPL was quicker and I saved some money in the process! The link I provided above was where the results were uploaded to
  3. Yes. As of right now, without a license, IMC starts RNs at $20.47. As soon as you get a license, beginning pay is $22.51
  4. Hi there, I'm taking my NCLEX next week and wanted to know how long it took for DOPL to upload my license number on their website as proof that I passed? This is the website I've gone to that I am assuming they'll upload the results to: https://secure.utah.gov/llv/search/index.html Also, do you guys happen to know of any other "clever" ways to find out if you passed in Utah? I know in other states there are some ways, but I'm not completely familiar with Utah just yet. I'm just really impatient/excited to see if I passed. I also cannot start my new job until I have passed, so I'm really eager to not be poor anymore haha Thanks so much in advance!
  5. I've only applied to intermountain and University. And really? I haven't called to ask that specifically. I was told by a couple HR recruiters that they recommended me applying 3-4 weeks before my actual graduation date because they said it would take around that time before they were actually wanting to hire me.
  6. I would mainly just like to actually GET a job anywhere at IMHC or U of U. My goal is to be anywhere in critical care. Best case scenario in the ER. But I just cannot work Med Surg. I would just die haha I think this is the last post I have to make before I can send you a PM. But I just really wana job with either of those 2 companies. And no I don't live in Utah. I will move there May 29th. If I still don't have a job by that time, I will not hesitate to be that person that's in HR everyday with muffin baskets
  7. Yes I was able to receive your message but I couldn't reply back. Maybe you could just give me the info/advice you were going to give me through the message and I can just work on getting more posts out there so I can use private message
  8. It says i need to have had 15 posts to partake in the website's Private Messaging. Do you have a personal email you wouldn't mind sharing? I think you can private message me, but I don't think i can send out any.
  9. Thats ALL I've applied to. This position at U of U is the only one I applied for...everything else has been with intermountain. I've probably put in 20-30 applications and no one has been interested :\
  10. No. Last I spoke to someone, he told me they contact people 2 weeks after. And the deadline date was the 24th. So I'm giving them until tomorrow before I start worrying/bugging them. Has anyone else?
  11. hey guys, so i got an email with the subject, "University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics Critical Care Internship Invitation." In it, i was invited to complete a "Montage View" and i just wanted to know what the heck this is! It sounds like an online one-way interview where they ask questions and I respond with either "video, audio, or written responses." I was told that if i was considered for a position, i would get a Reference-Check email (which I did) but I also go this email from the Recruiter himself (it is just a generalized email that was clearly not written 'just for me' but i had the ability to directly email him back as opposed to the "do not reply" message I got from the Reference-Check email). Is this a new thing they just started? Has anyone done this before? What kinds of questions are asked? is it normal to get this invitation along with the reference-check? Can you re-do a video or audio recording before actually submitting it?
  12. It doesn't bother me at all from what I know. I just don't know much about LDS and if they had some kind of extreme practice (like if it's ok for them to streak in a hospital hahah) then I may want to reconsider. Also, I don't want to do something wrong like, if I were at a Jehovah's witness hospital, give them blood when I wasn't suppose to. All I really know is that LDS can't have coffee...and as long as that doesn't apply to the staff, I'll be ok i tried researching online if there were practices I would need to be vigilant of but I couldn't find anything specific so I thought I'd ask here
  13. Hey, I was just wondering if anyone knows what it's like to work at a Mormon/LDS hospital when you do NOT practice that religion? Does this hospital practice the religion in their facility or is it just named the LDS Hospital since Intermountain bought it while it was a church? Is this hospital any different because of it being LDS? (For example, if there's a Catholic hospital that doesn't do abortions and if I were Pro-Choice, then me working there would be a problem) I definitely don't have a problem with people of LDS faith, but I am Christian and don't want there to be any "incongruence" with my religion and my practice. Basically, I don't want to inadvertently "support" or "take part in" something in the healthcare field I would be uncomfortable with later. Thank you! p.s. I really hope this doesn't offend anyone. That is not my intention in the slightest. I just want to make sure I can give the best care possible to all patients without compromising my own morals & values
  14. I also have applied for a Residency program with this hospital! granted it's a couple years later, but how long after you submitted your application did you get a call back to request an interview?
  15. Thanks everyone! Against the recommendation of all of the instructors, I've decided to test in and get licensed for Utah. Their BON is extremely nice/helpful/patient. I've talked with them several times and have always gotten so much kindness and patience from them. I called Louisiana's BON and the lady refused to give me any information and literally hung up on me. I'm just going to take a leap of faith and hope i don't have to wait so long to take my NCLEX. I'm also not too worried about the transcripts because even my classmates will have to wait for the Director of Nursing to physically mail the state the proof of program completion. But again, thank you to everyone who took the time to reply!
