Can anyone tell me how long it takes after graduation before you can take the boards? I understand that I have to wait for something in the mail telling when/where to go? Is this correct? what is the process? Am I looking at 3 weeks? 2 months?
thanks!
LVN program, if that matters.

It depends on two things:
1. How quickly your school sends your paperwork to the BON.
2. What the testing availability is in the local testing center.
My school (RN program) sent the paperwork pretty quickly. I think I received my letter from Pearson (THROUGH EMAIL) the Thursday after graduation. Then it was about a month before there were any open spots at the testing center. Your experience will be different depending on where you went to school, where you want to take your test, and what time of year it is.
Good luck!!!

The school explained they by law had 10 business days to turn in your paperwork to BON. From there it was up to them because they sometimes have a way of losing some students papers even though they are all sent together. I got mine by email not mailbox in 9 days including the weekend.

We got our ATT email the Tuesday before graduation and I took the NCLEX that Thursday. Best decision I ever made!
