How does license endorsement works?

Published

We are planning to move to Nevada,  I just want to know how does license endorsement works? Do I lose my right to practice in California after endorsing my license to Nevada or I am allowed to practice in both states?

I ask cause I just want to have everything ready in Nevada once we’re there. So I want to endorse my license now then if it gets approved we will probably move like after 6 months.  So during that 6 months can I still work in California??

thanks! Any advice would help!!

When does your CA license expire? If it doesn't expire for another 8 months or whatever, you're fine. If it expires next month and you don't renew it, then no, you can't practice. Check with your BON if they have weird rules, but that's how it's worked for me (not CA).

What happens when you endorse you license depends on whether one, or both, states are members of the nurse licensure compact (NLC).  If you endorse from one non-NLC state to another, as in your case, endorsing from CA to NV, you will be licensed in both states and your CA license remains active, so long as you continue to renew it.

Best wishes.

I see thank  guys, I just renewed my license by the way. I was thinking that once my license is endorsed I will lose my ability to practice to my home state ?
