How to land a hospital job as a CNA? ADVICE NEEDED

I don't have any nursing homes in my area but a hospital that is walking distance of my school is hiring "Nurse Assistant Oncology Part time 36 hrs a week-Midnights"
It says high school diploma required (I graduate high school next week) with or without experience in the Nurse Assistant position. Sounds easy enough.
How can I make sure I get this job? Should I wear scrubs to the job interview? What is it like working midnight shifts? Am I allowed to switch shifts later on because I start my prenursing classes in August?

The requirements listed are simply minimums. Since you have no experience or training yet, you might be looked over in favor of someone who does. CNA hospital jobs tend to be more competitive than nursing home jobs.

As far as switching shifts, there would have to be a job opening for that shift and you would have to be selected for it. Day shift tends to be more desirable than night, and there are likely to be people already on staff waiting their turn to make such a change. As a new employee, you'd be at the back of the line and unlikely to be eligible after only a few months.

Business casual is usually appropriate for an interview. I wouldn't go in scrubs unless specifically asked to for a working interview.

You have nothing to lose by applying. You can mention you will be going to nursing school.

Some facilities allow you to switch positions as soon as it becomes available, others have a waiting period, usually 30 to 90 days, maybe more.

If nothing else, it will be a good learning experience and a chance to practice your job interview skills!

There is no reason why you can't go into the interview with the mind set that you are interviewing them & the position just as much as they are interviewing you.
