I'm a new graduate from Canada. I'm thinking about writing the NCLEX and choosing California as the state of preference...but i'm not too sure, how is the job market in california? I heard its very bad and that some new grads still haven't found a job for 2.5 years...
hate to say it but as a canadian nursing graduate you have a better chance of getting a job in the US. try contacting a travel nursing agency and getting a placement that way. i know of a lot of people who have travelled to the states for nursing who have started as a new grad in a charge nurse position because the education from canadian schools is very highly recognized.

We had a lot of wonderful Canadian travel nurses, but unfortunately due to the budget cuts, they have been let go. Some of them were able to find jobs elsewhere but the vast majority have went home.
The times have changed now and even locals are struggling to find work. It's just a bad economy at the moment but that will change and nurses from all over will be in demand once againl
Oh man, I know that's tough. No, I was fortunate enough to not have had to do any actual foot work. Where exactly do you live? If you live near me, I'd be happy to send you some contacts of mine.Skeen
Can you send me the list too please, I live in SoCal I guess we have to find the right place to hire us.
