How I passed my NP boards twice!

Nurses General Nursing

Hey Guys, I promised if I passed my exam I would post how I did it. I graduated 12/17/2017. After the Christmas holiday I took off of work for 3 weeks. I started my studying by reading Maria Leik's Adult Gero Nurses practitioner certification book. I did all 680 questions in the book twice. Of course, I spent time on this site figuring out how other people passed their boards. I listened to Fitzgerald's CD in my car and Amelie Hollier cd's when I cleaned my house. I did 2000 questions and rationale from Board Vitals and other NP exam apps. I took the AANP practice test & scored 80%, I did exam edge practice test & scored 66% and APEA practice test & scored 70%. I signed up and paid to take both exams (AANP & AANC) before I graduated just in case I failed one. Ha! I took my AANP exam on 1/19/2018 & passed. Since, I had already paid for the ANCC I went ahead and I took the test on 1/27/18 and passed.. I also prayed a whole lot.. LOL!

Yes, it was a lot of studying but I wanted to pass this a exam and move on to the next faze of my life.

Hope this helps someone!!!!

Good luck!!!!

Congratulations! Enjoy your new career! (And, just a note....it is "phase", not "faze".)

Yes, it is! That's why proofreading and spell check is so important... Ha!! Also, the exact reason why I never get on social media..

Thank you for this!!! I am about to sit for my boards. I did Barkley home study and on his practice tests getting 78-80%, on the APEA i received a 76%, and exam edge 73%. I am going to take the PSI AANP test tomorrow. What was the most similar to the AANP exam (aside for the PSI test).

Congrats!!!
