How I passed NCLEX on the first try!!!!!

First off, I needed a break from nursing school. Graduated April 19, 2012 and purposely scheduled my NCLEX date two months later (June 19th). After a few weeks of doing nothing, I devised a study plan to take me up to the week before my test date.Started off with completing the Hurst onsite review and used it as a foundation to prepare. On top of reviewing Hurst core content, I incorporated ATI and Saunders to get more in depth about each disease process. HURST makes everything really simple, I needed a little more information behind the pathophysiology of certain diseases. This help me tremendously on NCLEX. Each time I reviewed a section in Hurst, I also reviewed drugs pertaining to that topic I was covering and wrote tons of notes inside my Hurst book for later review. Repitition is key my friends. I was able to verbally state and write everything in the Hurst book on top of what I added from ATI and Saunders. I find that many people fail to understand, Hurst alone does NOT cover everything, therefore its best to build on the information they gave you.Lastly, practice questions. I completed over 4000 questions before I took boards. I used different sources: Saunders, ATI and Hurst.When I walked into the testing center, I felt confident. Knocked out 75 questions in 1 hour and 10 mins. I went home, did the Pearson Vue trick and the next day, saw my name online stating that I passed : )FYI: Pearson Vue trick worked for everyone in my class.

I am in my last semester of school and I use ATI, I know about saunders, but what is Hurst. Please if you can tell me where I can find this.

Hurst is a company that prepares you for the NCLEX. Their focus is on reveiwing the content versuses test taking strategies, like Kaplan. Here is there website: http://www.hurstreview.com/index.php

I hated ATI I failed the first time with ATI I only used it because my school told me to. I got Kaplan and passed at 106 the second time!! Thank Jesus!!!!

ATI by itself, I would never recommend. But the question banks and the books they provide, gets to the point on the content. Especially, their Pharm ATI. CONGRATS on passing!!!! I never used Kaplan?!?

did you get a lot of math or sata or meds you never heard of?

I had less than 10 SATA. My exam was random. No math though. Had meds, lots of "priority" questions. Who do you see first. Recommend practicing those. Had 2 questions, where you had to put steps in order. No peds or maternity either.
